Campsie Minerva AFC

The origins of Campsie Minerva AFC are attributed to a group of workers from the old Kali Nailwork in the village who during the early 1970's formed a works football team and were content with the odd friendly game of football. Their passion and commitment however developed to the extent that those Kali workers formed Campsie Minerva AFC and in 1974 entered the competitive arena of structured football in the Stirling & District Amateur Football League. The Club continued to play within the confines of Lennoxtown, and despite folding for a period of around three years, the heart and purpose of the Club remained. The passion remained also and at the first appropriate opportunity a football club bearing the name Campsie Minerva was soon within Lennoxtown again.
