Hard work  by the ground staff enabled this game to go a head after heavy afternoon showers left puddles on the pitch. Both teams were below full strength , the visitors made a good start with Beaumont scoring from 10 yards after a defensive error in the first minute, Charters made a good save to keep out a Morrison header then Fuller shot just wide before Harvey headed home the equaliser after Charters had save his first effort with 10 minutes gone. Teenager Burwood put the home side in front slotting home from 12 yards with 15 minutes on the clock.then Howgego saved well from Barber with both sides making chances in an entertaining half. With the strong wind on their backs the home side had all the play early in the second half with Rawthorn heading home a Burwood cross to put Capel further in front. Both teams forced corners as play was end to end. Morgan went close for the visitors while Donovon shot over for the home side before Powell scored a fourth for the home side firing home from 25 yards just before full time.
