Castle In the Air were previously known as Coldeast Football Club, a hospital team formed in the mid- seventies.
Coldeast played in the Solent Conference (a friendly league) until the league folded in 1996.
The team joined the Solent League at the start of the 1996/97 season and eventually changed it's name at the beginning of the 1998/99 after receiving sponsorship from the Castle in The Air pub in Fareham.
The club's most successful season was undoubtedly in 1999/00 when they achieved promotion after finishing runners-up in the Second Division to BDML. They also won the Human Factor Cup that year when two goals from Graham Pearce gave them a surprise, but deserved, 2-0 victory over Corn Exchange (now Glencoe Sports) in the final played at Cams Alders. The team suffered relegation to Division Two at the end of 2001/02.
In 2003/04 the club won promotion back to Division One and were runners-up to old rivals RVT in the final of the Combination Cup.
Since 2006/07 the club has also received very generous sponsorship from Vauxhall Inchcape (now Eden)
