Congratulations to Plymstock today on winning the league, top side with a top attitude towards football and the boys were a credit to all involved. Today the Colts had their last home game of the season against Plymstock who in the first half showed why they were champions playing free flowing football that created problems for Callington, who took a time to get into the game but were always trying to put some passing together to get some quality possession. By the end of the first half Colts were down 4-0. After a few words to install belief at half time the Colts proved to everyone watching what a force they can be as they come out and took this game to the champions! They were determined in every position and were now making all the play and were creating, via some composed and controlled possession, Plymstock knew they were now in a game. The second half was end to end with both teams competing with each other and unfortunately both teams couldn't find the net. Colts had a few very good chances but just couldn't convert. That said, the second half saw a 0-0 draw and though we lost 4-0 the boys took great credit in their 2 nd half performance as they where magnificent in their spirit and quality of play. Every person involved gave their all and boys were an inspiration. Well done.
Opposition gave man of the match to Luke in goal who as usual was assured and safe and had no chance for the goals. My special mentions go to Ben and Dean who when they came on both brought our spirits up and showed how we should compete. Tremendous effort. Myron who is getting better and more confident in his ability with every game he plays, Harrison who is starting to show us what he can do. Aiden who is benefitting from playing almost every position available! He is performing at high level at the moment with a winning attitude keep it up. All that said it was a massive effort from the squad and well done. Last word to Plymstock and this comes from all at Callington Colts. Good luck in your cup final. Can't wait to have another match up next season.
