Saturday the 26th May 2007 - To be defeated in the 72nd minute of a 70 minute game, with the last kick of the ball clearly shows what Celtic Girls U15A are, those present witnessed one heck of a game and surely no one can disagree that the Hoops were by far the better side on the day, only a slight disertion by lady luck and some ridiculous offside decision's by the far side linesman stopped these girls being the final victor's. Every single one of the players in the green and white hoops can stand ten feet tall today, you were simply amazing. You fought for every ball, you never stopped even when the going got tough, you went behind but came raging back, you showed those that doubted that you are and alway's will be an incredible bunch of girls with courage, talent, beleif and determination that is second to none. A sight that also made us proud was our two cup tied players Karis and Sarah standing on the touchline kicking every ball and making every tackle as though they were on the park, your spirit girls is the best thier has and ever will be.

Ali and I are honoured and humbled to be your Coaches. Your journey has just begun as a team of 1992's who will progress through the serious football age level's together, How many other teams across Scotland can keep an entire team together and send them up the age level's as a team? not many if any would be the answer, and what a season you have had, thirty odd games played with 4 little blips along the way which were silly little indiscretions that you should forget. We have always said that thier is a bigger picture for everyone to see with regards to this team, it's not about now it's about your overall progress (which this year has been excellent) and your future years, real footballing accolades will come in good time, so girls let's be patient because everybody know's that those day's are not so far off for all of you in the 1992 Hoops.

Player By Player Final Analysis

Nadine Millar - Commanded her box perfectly, terrific kicking and communicated with her defence all game, could have done better at second goal but hey thiers ten other players in front of Nad's, all season long she has pulled of unbelievable one on one saves, along with getting to shot's that simply defied logic.

Amy Hart - Herty never stop's, her tackling was again spot on, got dragged infield out of position a couple of times, excellent distribution and her throw in's down the line were terrific.

Zoe Mathieson - The Rock was as her nickname suggests rock solid throughout the entire game, never lost a tackle.

Chelsea McDonnell - Came back from her usual midfield slot to sit in for cup tied Sarah. Perfect performance, Player of the Match, tackled and fought like a tiger for everything, drove her team mates on, always moved forward for corners etc and got on the score sheet with the hoops second.

Brogan Glennie - T1 put in another solid performance, with good thought on how to get out of tight situations, looked more comfortable in the left back slot, another who showed grit and determination.

Jessica Moir - Inspirational performance from the skipper, The Quiet One just get's better and better.

Kirsty Lynch - Speedy showed excatly why we missed her so badly last week, she never gave the opposition's midfield a moment's peace the entire game, tackled and harried tenaciously with grit, steel and determination, it's in her game.

Rhea Thomson - TT was simply TT some dazzling run's and interplay, backed up her defence superbly and never gave up.

Robyn Glennie - T2 worked her socks off, her tackling linking up and tracking back on the right side of midfield was immense. Alert to fire in the first for the Hoop's.

Chelsea Watson - Chelski because of Karis being cup tied was asked to play a strikers role and she ran herself into the ground, some terrific skills to get her clear of her markers, excellent movement to get on the end of through ball's and was simply unlucky not to be on the scoresheet on more than one occassion.

Sarah Smith - PP like Chelski ran herself into the ground up front, never gave up and chased every ball, as always her deliveries from corners etc were perfect, always given her team mates a passing option on the right.

Amy Craig - Tiny came on for T2 as the hoops went three up front, a decision that was made because of her electric pace, won the corner for PP to deliver and Chelsea McD to convert, showed she has got the ability in her locker.

Injury victims Georgia Gaffney and Rachel Dewar and Cup Tied Karis Peters and Sarah Finlay showed just what this teams bond is all about as they played the game from the touchline, all 4 kicked every ball and made every tackle as though they were on the park, they were a continual arm of support for thier teammates.

All in all every single one of the girls in the green and white hoops are winners in the view of the majority, we do salute and applaud you, well done girls you make us very proud, you always have.

CONGRATULATIONS

Sunday the 11th March - Well done to Chelsea "Chelski" Watson who plays for our U15A Team, Chelski was competing in the Schools National Cross Country Championships at the weekend down in Irvine, Chelski was competing against over 200 girls from all over the country and did exceptionally well to gain 5th place in a 14 mile race. CONGRATUALTIONS CHELSKI, and well done from all the girls at Celtic.

Tuesday the 13th March - More good news from the Coca Cola Schools Sevens Tournament held at Gussie Park in Dundee today, Zoe "BB" Clark who plays for our U15A Team was representing Arbroath High School and has made it through with her team mates to the next stage of the Tournament. CONGRATULATIONS BB, the next round is at Lesser Hampden and is the last step before turning out at Hampden in the finals, go on BB we are with you all the way. Zoe's team qualified from today's leg by winning every game, well done from all the girls at Celtic..

Wedenesday the 14th March - Another CONGRATULATIONS to Chelsea "Chelski" Watson, another championship long distance race when she competed in the Dundee Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships and this time won the bronze medal in the U15 Girls category, huge achievement when you consider Cheslsea ran 14 miles on Sunday, marvellous and everyone at Celtic Girls sends thier well done wishes.

Saturday the 7th April 2007 - And finally Karis Peters and Sarah Finlay get to play thier debut for the Hoops, and my was it worth the wait as we travelled up to Forfar to take on Forfar Farmington at the Academy. Playing together as a starting line up for the first time was Nad's, A-jay (Herty), T1, Th-Thirteen, Sarah Finlay, Speedy, The Quiet One, Chelski, TT, PP and Karis Peters. Wow is the only expression as this team stormed into a commanding 3 goal lead within the first 25 minutes, this showed us enough and we then chopped and changed the team. But the debut girls took to thier roles in thier new team like they had been here for years, Sarah joined up with T1 in the heart of defence and was immense, Karis Peters - well a hatrick against Forfar Farmington on her debut say's it all,, special, two talented girls and two brilliant signings, well done to both girls. Today though was also about the squad that is Celtic Girls U15A and you all did splendidly well girls (see match report)

Thursday the 3rd May - Was semi final day at the School Coca Cola Sevens competition down at Lesser Hampden in Glasgow, Zoe "BB" Clark joined her school teammates such as Beth Cameron, Claire Thoms and Kelly Clarke (no relation) to again represent the Arbroath High School team who had made it through to the semi's without losing a game, Buzz Bomb and her teammates did ever so well on the day losing only one goal in thier only defeat ( which remains the teams only defeat throughout the entire competition), sadly they did not make the finals this year losing out only to goal differance which seem's a tad harsh but all the girls who played can hold thier heads high, a single defeat does not make you losers it shows just what a terrific team you are so well done girls from everyone at Celtic Girls (Tayside) F.C, you did your school proud.

Sunday the 20th May - An absolutely fantastic accomplishment happened today as Chelsea "Chelski" Watson took part in the Women's 500 race, This was a race where many top runners had entered including the likes of Liz McColgan's daughter. Well it's a massive CONGRATULATION'S we send Chelski from everyone at the Club for gaining 2nd place, what a huge achievement for a young girl of 15.

Welcome Onboard - The month of December brought with it to the U15A squad 3 new hugely talented recruits the twins Brogan (T1) and Robyn Glennie (T2) and Kirsty Lynch (Speedy). These players add extra strength and ability to an already strong squad, we welcome the girls and look forward to the day they take the field in the Celtic Girls colours. The month of December also brings with it cancellations due to adverse weather and ofcourse the winter beak over Xmas and New Year, Have a nice one all see you soon!!!!

New recruits and Returning Talents - July and the start of the season draws near and with it we welcome three new signing's of Zoe Clarke (BB) from Arbroath, Zoe's skill and tenaciousness will add another dimension to our way of play, we are extremely happy that Zoe opted to sign for Celtic Girls U15A others tried to sign this talent but failed to impress, Amy Craig (Tiny) who's pace and skill on the ball will torment many a defence and Chelsea Watson (Chelski) who has pace, skill in abundance and scores goals for fun (the last two girls we welcome back you have never been away, you've came home to your rightful place), all in all a trio of talented assett's to our squad no question, we look forward to watching them play the Celtic Girls way!!!

Wedenesday the 30th May 2007 - Well what a friendly friendly friendly end of season affair we witnessed tonight at Forfar when our U15A team travelled to the Academy to be the visitors to play Forfar Farmington U15's. Would Karis Peters the new Celtic Superstriker get her 100th goal of the season, time would tell. We arrived at Forfar with the sun shinning brightly down on the newly cut Academy playing fields.

The game kicked off around the 7.20pm mark and within 20 minutes the Celtic U15A Team were staring down at an abyss that had engulfed them with Nikki Todd of Forfar doing much of the damage with two absolutely stunning goals that no keeper in the real football world would have stopped, a third goal for Forfar in this period meant the Celt's had been shell shocked into a 3 goal disadvantage, but hey this Celtic team have been there, dressed in the tea shirt and went deeper than a German Uboat to come out of much deeper holes than this and when they finally awoke from thier Wednesday slumber my oh my didn't they just show Forfar Farmington what the art of football is all about. The first goal was a classic bit of interchanging football that seen the Celt's win the ball in defence pass it out wideleft, cut infield, skin a player move it over the halfway line before releasing PP with a defender to beat, beat she did before releasing a wonderfull shot that the Forfar keeper could only admire as it sailed in to the back of the net, pure quality. Then the moment we all had awaited and again it came from an extremely intelligent passing move from the Celt's, this time it was Supertsriker Karis Peters who had the goal in her sites and as usaul when Superstriker is in this position there is going to be only one outcome as the Forfar keeper could only watch in amazement as the ball hit the back of the net, the magical 100 goals had been reached, but Karis wasn't finished there and when the Celts won a corner on the left hand side PP put over her usual perfect delivery and Karis bulleted it home with her head, 101 not out and 3.3. Then into the second half and Forfar had a terrific opportunity to edge ahead when they were one on one against Nad's, but Nad's being Nad's tipped the thunderbolt strike that was destined for the top right hand corner around the post, again quality goalkeeping from a quality keeper. Celtic then pushed Forfar back for a long spell and again Superstriker showed why she has that tag, banging the ball home after another brilliant build up, minutes later game set and match as Karis yet again got on the end of this time a long clearance before passing the defender before slotting home. Forfar did rally but the game was long gone and even though aided by a ridiculous decision by the Referee awarding a penalty when no player was near the adjudged recipitent of a nudge in the back whilst the ball was 25 feet in the air could stop the 92 green and white hoops, what a tremendous achievement Celtic Girls, when you seeemed dead and buried you came raging back, when any attempt's were made to overpower you you all stood ten feet tall, when absolutely incredible decisions went against you you did not falter, all in all an absolutely marvellous performance and we can forgive the 20 minute slumber at the start of the game a simple blip that is not important, we know sometimes a kick up the ninety's is needed before you awake, Tonight you awoke with venom, style, passion and destruction, you are simply unbelievable, we bow out of U15's football in style and look forward to the arrival of U17's, it has no fear for a squad that will stand together against any foe or advisory. What a year you have had against every entity, obsatcle and down right wrong placed in your way, you have overcame them all with passion and pride, we salute you the 92 green and white hoops, no words can describe what you are all about, Oh and let's not forget Karis Peters Superstriker finished on 103 goals, a new sensation is born, the 92's have a new Superstriker, goodbye dreamers

Sunday the 3rd june 2007 - Something special has happened over the past short while at this glorious club, something that no single entity or group can ever change, something that has grown so strong that no matter what any single person or congromalate can try to throw towards us would have any damaging efferct, we have grown strong through the bitter pain of battle, we have learned through mistakes and error's along the path that we have taken. Yes we have not alway's been correct in our judgement, but as a young club we have taken on board our mistakes and dealt with them to ensure that we would never ever make such mistakes again. Decisions were never easy to make but make them we did in the name of our fledglings, in our fledglings we mean the most importnat part of our Club and that is our players. This has brought us to the crossroads of where we are today a crossroads that would never had been reached if it was not for the support and strength of our friends, and it is an honour to call them our friends Amber Douany and Rory Nicol of Perth City. These two individuals have supported Celtic Girls (Tayside) Football Club in a way that could only be described as fantastic, as if it where thier own Club, they are two quite remarkable people and I personally feel honoured to be classed as thier friends, an honour that shall never be forgotten and shall never diminish. They stood tall for us when the long knifes came out, they backed this Club when then odd's were firmly against us, and with them we came shinning through the awfull attempts to slay us. For players such as Rebecca Taylor, Marnie Drumm, Alanna Stewart, Shaunnie Lee Coleman, Yasmin Anderson, Jessica Moir and Chelsea Watson to name only but a few you will never ever no the politic's that have preceded, but please every Celtic Girls Committte member, player, Coach and spectator never forget our friends from Perth, like us they believe in what Celtic Girls (Tayside) Football Club are all about, and RESPECT is and always should be a two way street.
