Central Ajax U10's Juniors 1
KENILWORTH WARDENS JUNIORS 2

Report

Central Ajax uniors hosted Kenilworth Wardens for the first game of the new year on a bright but blustery Saturday morning. This fixture is always well anticipated with both sides being of comparable ability, shown after a great 3-3 draw between the teams in the away fixture.
The game kicked off and it was real end to end stuff from the start. Both tams playing some nice football but Kenilworth opened the scoring in the first half after a good cross and shot into the Ajax net within 5 minutes. The match then seemed to settle a little with both the sides trying to play football but the conditions on the wind did not make it easy. Unfortunately Joss picked up a knock and had to be substituted after 15 minutes, a real shame because he was playing well and expressing himself with some nice touches and passing. The rest of the half was evenly contested and the half time score was 1-0 to the visitors. A couple of substitutions were forced at half time and the Juniors settled into a better rhythm and began to get a better foot hold in the match. Zach came close on a couple of occasions but Kenilworth were not out of the game by any stretch of the imagination with some nice breaking football. A passage of play, broken down by a couple of free kicks for both sides made for some exciting shooting opportunities. The Juniors still playing football got a deserved equaliser after a cross from the right found allum in the centre of the box and he calmly struck a right foot shot into the net. 1-1. The match only had minutes remaining and both sidesto their credit continued to press for a winner, I dont think anyone expected a draw or would have settled for one and the decisive goal came from a well worked right side cross that was volleyed nicely past Jack in the Ajax goal to give the Wardens victory.
FT 1-2

A really good game to watch, as always.

  • No scheduled fixtures.
