Ajax made the short journey to local neighbours Norton Lindsey. After heavy rain the pitch was heavy and the grass quite long so not ideal for our passing game. The boys staerted palying up the slope and found themsleves under some early pressure against the hosts. Norton had plenty of possesion but without really creating a clear scoring opportunity. As the half continued Ajax came into the game with Zach pushing forward at every opportunity and unlucky not to convert after a superb run down the right. Jackson was holding the ball up well and causing the home defence problems. Dan, Joe and Alex were also contributing in midfield. An even half came to an end without any goals.

A good first half and Ajax now had the benefit of playing down the hill. A tactical change paid off within a couple of minutes as Zach, now playing up front, finished after an excellent return pass from Rory. Credit also to Charly for the long ball to start the move off. Just the start we needed. Ajax were now on top and playing some good football. Zach was denied a second by a great fingertip save by their 'keeper. A second always looked likely and soon came from Rory. After this Ajax controlled most of the half but couldn't quite create good enough chances to extend thir lead. Norton rallied in the last few minutes but Ajax saw the game out for a fully deserved victory.

A good performance today, but nowhere near our best. We passed the ball better than Norton and won more challenges so well done to all of you boys. Let's hope we can keep this good run of form going.

MoM. Zach was outstanding today both as a defender and then a striker. Great effort throughout to complement a great performance.
