| Chelmsley Town Youth Under 18 |
The fixture having been postponed at Racing was reversed to The Pavilion. Thanks to Racing for agreeing to reverse the fixture.
This game saw us up to almost full strength for the first time this season. It did not take long for that to show. Just two minutes into the game and we were one up. Ten minutes in and it was three. From that moment on we played the game well within ourselves. I dont understand how Racing are not doing better in the league, and surely there is more to come from them. They look settled and secure in the way that they play and I was particularly impressed with their numbers 5 and 10. Having said that Chelmsley were good - very good. This was a game that saw Jack Duffy almost at his best, and one has to wonder just what the assembled scouts are looking for??? The boy controlled the game. Apart from his goals, his display was awesome and I hope this shows that he can do better than he has of late. Lewis Moss also showed why he is so highly rated. A hat trick to show for his efforts. Luke Craig continues his rehabilitation following a serious ankle injury that some said he might not rcover from. No chance! He loves it.
Nathan Leek sometimes leaves me speechless (not an easy thing) with his talent. If he can learn to concentrate on the game it is not too late for him. His free kick was goalbound from 20 yards even before he had hit it!
It was good to welcome back two lads who have recovered their zest for the game. Josh Green is, I believe, a player of immense ability. He dropped in at the back with Nathan as if he had never been away. His goal from almost 30 yards left the Racing keeper rooted to the spot. The boy is immense - terrific. Last but not least. The game saw the return of Ryan Field. The boy never stops smiling, even when he skys the ball from 3 yards out!!!
Welcome back you two. It really is starting to look good. Craig, Fungai, Chad, Mikey, Jordan and KIngy, all looking good. Dont forget we were short of five players as well, so our bench should start getting warm too. Next week the Kingshurst , at home.
