ABOUT THE CLUB

Chelsea SC was formed back in 1997 and is officially affiliated to Chelsea Football Club. In early 2003 the club's committee decided to form a team to compete in the Gibraltar Junior Football League. The team made its debut that season, 2003-04, in the under 11 category.
The following season, 2004-05, the team moved to the under 13 category. At the end of that season, several of the players were no longer eligible to play football in that age group so it was decided to field two teams.
The 2005-06 season saw us competing in the under 13 and Under 15 age groups.
At the start of the 2006-07 season we had an influx of players coming for trials with the under 15. Most of them were of a decent standard so a decision was taken to increase the number of teams we had in the under 15 category to two. This season also saw us competing in the Senior Mens League for the first time.
The following season, 2007-08, the club was represented in the under 13 and under 15 category of the Junior League, as well as in the Senior League.
Season 2008-09 was the most successful season in the club's history both in terms of the teams we fielded as well as results on the pitch. We had teams competing in the under 11 and under 13 of the Junior Football League and one Senior and one Reserve team competing at Senior Level. The Senior team excelled themselves finishing second in the League and reaching the semi final of the Rock Cup, and the Final of the Second Division Cup.
Season 2009-10 has seen us start without any junior teams for the first time since we started the club which is a shame. There were just not enough qualified coaches available to take those teams on. It was therefore decided to concentrate on Senior Football this season. We approach the season with virtually a brand new team as most of the players who helped us be so successful last season have decided to move on to other clubs. Nevertheless, we have made some quality signings and look forward to another great season.
