Our last game in the Old Boys League, and an inauspicious finish, albeit Reigate are champions of our division, and a good side.
A big pat on the back to all the boys who have soldiered on this season despite just one win and one draw - all credit to everyone who kept plugging away and never made lame excuses (well not often anyway), and with our new venture in the Guildford and Woking Alliance next season, we will hopefully be at a more suitable level.
A pleasant day and a shortish drive (which we'll get used to) to wrap up our season. As many times this season, the final result doesn't reflect the overall game, and it was Reigates excellent finishing that was the difference in the end. Two goals flicked in from corners, a good headed goal although we should have rpevented the cross getting in, and a break away one on one with Jaff in goal, who left a bit of a gap for the guy to slot home, sums up their goals. Whilst we had a fair bit of the play, especially in the 2nd half, we didn't really make their 'keeper work enough despite plenty of effort throughout the team.
A nice summer break now to recharge the batteries, swing a cricket bat and carry on with training, so we're fit and ready for next season.
See y'all
MoM - James Greggor worked tirelessly in midfield
Matt Davies - Greggor and Luke Morgan, leaving the pub to go to the game, Luke is in James' passenger seat, James has to do a 17 point turn to get out of his parking space because some numpty has badly parked a Clio behing him......Lukes car! - rather than get out and move it, Luke just says "don't worry, just back into it"!
