This was far and away the best performance of the season so far. In every department NOMADS looked strong and more than able to compete with DUDDON, a side that have a history of being dangerous with their pace and power. Nomads went one down after a misjudged cross sneaked into the top corner. The game went backwards and forwards until neat footwork from the two strikers created a space on the edge of the box which Paul Stricklan neatly finished with great turn and duly slotted past the oncoming goalkeeper. Just as the game looked like it was going to end 1-1 at half time, Gary McGarth came up with a piece of sheer quality, which saw him chip the keeper from 20yrds. The second half started with Nomads on the front foot creating more chances. Then Duddon broke away and created a chance in the Nomads box. Just as Nomads cleared the ball from the attack, the referee awarded Duddon a penalty for a tackle from behind. The penalty was coolly despatched making it 2-2. The Nomads players had work to hard now not to let this performance slip from their hands. Then with ten minutes left to play, Nomads were awarded a free kick 20 yrds from goal, up stepped Charlie Farley. He took two steps and curled it into the far top corner, 3-2. For the last few minutes Duddon threw everything they had at Nomads, but the defensive line was too strong and dealt with all they had. The ref blew the final whistle to finish a very well deserved home win. FINAL SCORE: Nomads 3 - Duddon 2.
