History

Claremont AFC
09 Sep 2007

Claremont AFC was formed in 1969 and began playing games in 1970.Whilst we recognise that enjoyment is more important than winning, the club has had its fair share of sucess. We are the only club in East Kilbride to have won the Scottish Amateur Football Association Cup 3 times at under 12 level in 1982/83,1984/85 and 1985/86.Quite an achievment as the competition is open to amateur clubs in Scotland.
The Club is associated with the SFA via the SYFA and all our coaches are required to attend SFA coaching courses .
We currently have 11 teams playing non-competitive and competitive football. Our soccer sevens teams play non-competitive football in the LSSDA whilst ou 11-a-side teams play competitive football in the EKBFA and LYFTA leagues. We also have a soccer school for under 6/7 age upwards age group and encourage parents and coaches to help out .
Please contact John Mitchell or a committee member if you would like to help.
