Cleveland Juniors kicked off the final game of the season with the luxury of two substitutes, but facing a strong wind in the first half. A good kick out by Dominic Yeates found Jamie Stapleton but his run on goal was well defended. Tom Micklewright made a good headed clearance and then Dominic Yeates had to make an excellent save at the expense of a corner,cleared by Liam Mitchell. A great run by Chris Salmon found Kyle Mace but his effort on goal was blocked and then a nice move involving Matty Krobus,Joe Godwin and Liam Mitchell led to a 'goal' by Kyle Mace being disallowed for offside. A terrific cross from Kyle Mace was headed just over the bar by Chris Salmon whilst at the other end Charlie McElvaney and Brad Gill broke up visitors attacks.. With 13 minutes of the game gone the home team took the lead, a well taken free kick by James Garvin found Chris Salmon whose powerful shot hit the post but fortunately Tom Micklewright was on hand to slam the rebound in to the net.

Great play by Joe Godwin led to a run on goal by Liam Mitchell which was cleared whilst at the other end James Garvin and Tom Micklewright made excellent clearances. Jamie Stapleton then hit a shot just wide and at the other end good tackling by Charlie McElvaney broke up a visitors attack. Dominic Yeates was virtually a spectator in the home goal but Brad Gill had to make a good tackle to clear a rare visitors attack. With 21 minutes of the game gone Joe Godwin's run on goal was only stopped at the expense of a free kick,well taken by James Garvin and met by Kyle Mace who hammered the ball in to the net.

Jamie Stapleton made a good defensive clearance and then a terrific move involving Liam Mitchell, Charlie McElvaney, James Garvin and Brad Gill led to a cross from Joe Godwin which was well defended. Dominic Yeates had to deal with a throughball whilst at the other end a free kick from James Garvin went over the bar. Matty Krobus found Kyle Mace with a great pass but his run on goal was cleared. Jamie Stapleton had an effort saved by the goalkeeper and in the final minute of the first half the home team went further ahead,another well taken free kick by James Garvin this time met by Chris Salmon who calmly stroked the ball in to the net.

In the opening moments of the second half a nice pass from Brad Gill found Jamie Stapleton whose run on goal ended with a cross which was cleared. Tom Micklewright and Charlie McElvaney combined to break up a visitors attack and then Kyle Mace almost got on the end of a Brad Gill throughball. Great defensive work by James Garvin and Matty Krobus kept out the visitors and then Liam Mitchell found Kyle Mace but his effort on goal was blocked. Charlie McElvaney and Brad Gill combined to create a half chance for Chris Salmon and then Tom Micklewright made a great headed clearance. A terrific run by Joe Godwin brought a foul, James Garvin's tremendous free kick clipping the top of the bar. A lovely move involving Jamal Shamim and Andrew Currie led to a great shot from Jamie Stapleton which brought a good save from the visitors goalkeeper. The resulting corner,taken by Jamie Stapleton, almost led to another Cleveland Juniors goal, Kyle Mace hitting the woodwork with a well placed header.Good battling by Charlie McElvaney led to a shot from Liam Mitchell,saved by the goalkeeper.Kyle Mace almost got on the end of a terrific Andrew Currie cross and then a tremendous run by Liam Mitchell ended with a shot which went inches over the bar. With 21 minutes of the second half gone the home team stretched their lead, an excellent throughball by James Garvin found Chris Salmon who calmly rounded the goalkeeper and knocked the ball in to the empty net.

Cleveland Juniors 4-0 Mount Pleasant

Jamal Shamim's great headed clearance found Andrew Currie who in turn found Chris Salmon for a run on goal which was cleared. A cross from Andrew Currie flashed across the goalmouth whilst at the other end James Garvin and Tom Micklewright made headed clearances. Another terrific cross from Andrew Currie was headed just over the bar by Chris Salmon and then Kyle Mace had a 'goal' disalowed for offside. With three minutes of the game remaining Cleveland Juniors went further ahead,Chris Salmon found Andrew Currie whose inch perfect cross was headed in by Brad Gill to make the score

Cleveland Juniors 5-0 Mount Pleasant

Excellent goalkeeping by Dominic Yeates ensured that the home team would keep a clean sheet,bravely diving at the visitors forwards feet to claim the loose ball. In added time a great move involving Jamal Shamim, Matty Krobus and Jamie Stapleton ended with Chris Samon completing his hat trick and to end the season as the leagues second highest goalscorer.
