Tom Micklewright and Jamal Shamim had to make early clearances as the visitors started brightly. Good battling by Liam Clark won the ball for Joe Godwin whose cross was well defended. Excellent defending by Arrian Sarwar led to a through ball by Jamie Stapleton which was gathered by the goalkeeper. Tom Micklewright and Jamal Shamim both made great headed clearances whilst at the other end a nice pass by Liam Fawcett almost created a chance for Chris Salmon. James Garvin had to be alert in kicking clear a dangerous through ball. A lovely run by Joe Godwin ended with a shot from Chris Salmon saved by the goalkeeper. Liam Clark and Jamal Shamim did well to clear a visitors attack and James Garvin had again to come out of his goal area to kick the ball away. After 17 minutes a good clearance by Robbie Livingstone led to a free kick to the home team some 30 yards from the visitors goal. Liam Fawcett took the kick and hit an unstoppable shot into the net.

Gary Powell and Arrian Sarwar combined to break up a visitors attack whilst at the other end Andrew Currie and Liam Fawcett were involved in a nice move which ended with a shot from Chris Salmon saved by the goalkeeper. A nice pass from Liam Clark to Joe Godwin ended with a cross which Matty Lowe almost got on the end of. Another cross from Joe Godwin was headed clear almost on the line whilst at the other end Arrian Sarwar and Robbie Livingstone both had to make timely interceptions.

Half Time

Good defending by Jamal Shamim and a brave save by James Garvin kept the home team's lead intact. Liam Clark and Liam Fawcett combined to set up a half chance for Matty Lowe but with 4 minutes of the second half gone the visitors equalised , following a goalmouth scramble.

A move involving Gary Powell and Chris Salmon created a chance for Matty Lowe but his effort was blocked. After 9 minutes of the second half the visitors took the lead, a good move down the left was followed by a well hit shot over James Garvin's head.

The home team almost equalised within 2 minutes of the restart but Liam Fawcett's effort was pushed over the bar by the visitors goalkeeper. Jamal Shamim had a shot blocked from the resulting corner and to make matters worse the visitors broke away and scored again.

An excellent save by James Garvin prevented the visitors from going further ahead whilst at the other end Matty Lowe had a shot blocked. Kaine Good and Andrew Currie combined to set up a half chance for Chris Salmon. Jamie Stapleton had a shot saved by the goalkeeper and from the rebound Chris Salmon's volley went just wide. With 5 minutes of the game remaining the home team pulled a goal back and it was a fine individual effort from Jamie Stapleton who hit an unstoppable shot into the net.

A great run by Andrew Currie was well defended but any hope of the home team gaining any points from the game were dashed when with only a minute remaining the visitors scored again.
