The Under 16's (Sponsored by Steve Brettle Fabrications Ltd) participated in their first competitive game of football since the middle of April, in a 6 team tournament hosted by Trimdon United.

Up first were Swalwell Swifts from the Russell Foster Premier League, who had beaten Boro Rangers 3 - 2 only the week before, so the lads knew it wouldn't be an easy game.

However, putting in practice the exercises we've been doing in training for the last few weeks, the team passed the ball around confidently and created the best chances in the opening exchanges.

It wasn't until towards the end of the game that Swalwell began to apply some pressure to the back line and on the one occasion they breached it, Liam McPherson was on hand to make the save.
