The History of Coulby Newham Juniors FC
24 Mar 2012

The Club was formed in 1996 to accommodate the local boys from the rapidly expanding Coulby Newham area.

We ran initially with only one team (Under 8’s), but rapidly expanded and in the following season had teams competing in the Teesside Junior Football Alliance at Under 7’s, Under 8’s, Under 9’s, Under 12’s and Under 13’s.

We created our own Development Section which allowed the club to bring in new small-sided teams in each season.

The Club continued to grow and won its fist honours in 1999/2000 when the Under 11’s won the TJFA Division 4 title.

Our most successful team followed a year later with the Under 11’s Division 4 title, followed in successive years with the Under 12’s Division 3 title and the Under 13’s Division 2 title, culminating in the North Riding County Cup at Under 15’s in 2007-08.

In the same year, our Under 11’s won the Division 5 title, and our Under 13’s won the Division 3 title.  Also, our Under 10’s were runners-up in the Challenge Cup.

The Under 17’s finished Runners-Up in Division 1 in 2004/05 and where also beaten finalists in the Challenge and North Riding Cups.

Season 2009/10 saw our Under 11’s as Runners-Up in Division 4, and our Under 18’s crowned Division 2 Champions and also Runners-Up in the Challenge Cup.

The Club continues to look to expand year on year and now has all teams playing their home games at Hemlington Recreation Centre.
