Coed finish season in style.

Coed finished the season just 9 points of 5th place after pinching a well deserved 2-3 win away to Clydach wasps. In an entertaining first half dominated by Coed it was Clydach who went two up. The first after the impressive "Johnny Morgan" scuffed a back pass allowing a striker to slot home and the second with another defensive mistake allowing a striker to finish well into the bottom corner, 2-0. "James Stokes" almost pulled one back for Coed, hitting the post from a free-kick but Coed were void of creativity. Finally in the 43rd minute the goal arrived, a nice run and step over from "David Jackson" ended with a cross to "Neil Jones" who was brought down for a clear penalty. "Neil" stepped up himself to score, taking his tally to 10 for the season, half time 2-1.

After a good shouting from the gaffer and a substitution, Coed returned fired up. Coed completely dominated the second half but again lacked that spark until full-back "Lee Barton" pulled an awesome lob out of the bag from all of 30 yards to level the scores, 2-2. "Shane Burchell" blasted just wide as Coed looked for a winner and with just minutes remaining man of the match "Neil Jones" put in an excellent cross for "Scott Diamond" however the cross was put into the net via a deflection from the Clydach full-back, full time 2-3.

Summary: In a season that saw the best and worst of Coed we finished fourth from bottom and interestingly just 9 points from 5th. If it wasn't for an awful start to the season Coed indeed could have finished a lot higher considering they had beat, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th during the season. But it also could have ended a lot worse and Coed are thankful they avoided the drop that was staring them in the face for large parts of the season. Hopefully if the squad stick together and add 3 or 4 quality signings and keep the main players injury free - who knows what next season may have in store ?
