| COLCHESTER TOWN LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB | 2 |
For the second season running, the Town Ladies secured an excellent result in South Essex. It was a match they had done enough to win, but they were to be denied near the end. Last year they had recovered from two goals down to level it up, but this time twice they led, but again it ended 2-2.
They stole the first half honours as defender Heidi Mason volleyed in an Abi Head corner. After the interval the home side got back on terms before Abi Head got her side ahead once more, scoring from a free kick. In previous seasons, the two sides have featured in some very good matches, with Colchester always doing well in the games, playing well above themselves and achieving some superb results. This game was to be another of those, but they were cruelly denied, as Rangers levelled it up with just two minutes of play to go.
The result see Colchester still wondering about their first division status, and they have to hope that Redbridge did not better their result, as the two sides went into the last fixtures, with Colchester ahead on goal difference.
