Second Team Summary 2006/07
The second team enjoyed a wonderful season, which reached a marvellous climax when they won the LCFA Intermediate Cup, beating Bankfield OB 4-1 in the final at the LCFA Centre in Walton Hall Avenue.
The first half was goal-less, with goalkeeper Ian Robertson making a number of excellent saves to keep us in the game.
Ten minutes into the second half, we took the lead with a Bankfield own goal. Mike Boyle made it 2-0 with a splendid finish and Paul Welsh added a third with a finely struck penalty. Bankfield pulled a goal back before Anthony Dillon sealed the victory with a fourth goal.
Manager Steve Hawkins and Assistant Manager Paul Hargreaves looked on proudly as team captain Jon Peterson raised the Intermediate Cup aloft to the delight of the large Collegiate Old Boys contingent.
The team finished mid-table in the first division of the I Zingari Combination.
