Supervets 2006/07
The Supervets, under the management of Ian MacDonald, had a magnificent season, which culminated in their 7-0 victory at Nene Park over Splott Albion from Cardiff to win the national Umbro Over-45s Trophy.
Two goals apiece from Terry Molloy, Derek McClatchey and Billy Ponzini and a classic header from Stevie Molloy clinched the brilliant win.
To reach the final, the Supervets had to win a very competitive Northern group, a quarter-final against the previous holders of the trophy and a tough semi-final at Harrogate. Over the whole campaign of ten games, including the final, the team scored 29 goals and only conceded two.
