The 2010/11 season will bring us the third Lucozade Sport Performance League (LSPL) and, if last season was anything to go by, we're all set for another cracking competition!
80 teams battled it out in the ultimate virtual football league over the 2009/10 season, each of them supported by a season-long Barclays Premier League club-style sponsorship package, and with four divisions all slugging it out for a place in the season finale at Old Trafford the action was fast and furious all season long.
Meltis Mexicans FC arrived at the Theatre of Dreams fresh from enjoying a weekend in the life of a top flight club - their prize for taking the LSPL Division 1 title included a stay in a 5* hotel, bespoke boots and kit for the whole team plus a talk from former United legend Andrew Cole. This professional preparation proved to be the difference as they overcame Division 2 winners Streatham Stanley to take the overall title of LSPL Champions.
Division 3 winners Aardvark FC and Division 4 champs County Thistle FC also got to live the dream on the Old Trafford pitch - Country Thistle FC emerged victorious on Finals Day - but they weren't the only winners from a fantastic second season of the LSPL.
Each of the 80 participating teams - drawn from thousands of applicants - got the professional treatment with a new team kit, a visit from a Lucozade Sport Scientist and a season's supply of Lucozade Sport products helping them raise their game over the course of the season. Add to that expert advice from Lucozade Sport's panel of professional stars - Martin Keown, Les Ferdinand, Gary Speed and Darren Bent - and you've got a package to give any amateur team the edge.
