Coventry Marconi Ladies FC was originally formed by a group of ladies working for Marconi in Coventry during the spring of 2000, of which only a few had previous footballing experience.

Mick Conneely (manager) was asked to help out with training sessions for a few weeks and lead the ladies up until their 11th season.

The first couple of seasons were a learning curve for all involved, leading to many 'highs' and 'lows' both on and off the pitch.

With valuable experience gained, the 3rd season saw an upturn in both performance and results. Entering the 4th season as an established club within West Midlands Ladies Football the club finally had a squad capable of challenging for the league title, after only 3 seasons this was a fantastic achievement for the club. Unfortunately having scored 90 goals and conceding very few, fell just a little short.

Following the departure of a number of experienced and quality players, the 5th season was one of consolidation.

April 2005 saw an end to the association with the Marconi Group and the beginning of a new sports and social club namely Coventry Copsewood. As the club enterered it's 6th season both manager and players were optimistic of a successful and enjoyable season and future, but unfortunately finished runners up.

Hopes were high as the club entered the 2006-2007 season with the beneficial addition of some new players. After the anticipated good start to the season Mick started to plan for the following season adding two more high quality players to the squad. Without losing a game the club were able to celebrate their first championship, gaining promotion into the West Midlands Regional Premier League.

2007/2008 saw Copsewood continue their impressive form where the league record was 21 wins from an amazing 21 games, added on to this the club reached the 3rd round of the F.A Cup beating TNS and Alfreton on the way to receiving the team of the round award. Copsewood also acheived the record for scoring the most goals in an F.A Cup tie (14-1).

The 1st season in the Midland Combination was one of mixed fortunes. The season couldn't have started any better when  Coventry City were beat in an historic 1-0 victory then TNS 5-0 (top after 5 games). After a number of injuries and players leaving the club finished the season with only 1 win in 2009 but still finished a respectable 6th. The cup was where the most success was and after beating 3rd and 2nd in the previous rounds Copsewood were agonisngly close to beating the champions Derby but eventually lost 4-3.

2009/2010 was a struggle both on and off the pitch and after starting the season with only 11 players signed on the club somehow managed to complete the season and stay up quite comfortably.

2010/11 was the end of an era for the club as long serving manager Mick Conneely left half way through the season. Mick's son, Ryan Conneely took charge for the remainder of the season and with the team looking destined for relegation they somehow managed to win 3 games in a row followed by a 9-3 demolition of Stratford Town which seen the club maintain its status in the Midland Combination.

The club are now in their 4th consecutive season in the division.
