Corby S&L Ladies FC became known as such when moving to Stewarts & Lloyds in 2003. Formerly known as Corby Town Ladies FC playing on a council pitch, the club decided to join Stewarts & Lloyds for the excellent facilities that they offered.
S&L were previously an all male club, though they did hire pitches out to some girls teams. The club then decided to incorporate female teams into the set-up in order to help both them and us. This meant a change of name for us and two young girls sides who have recently joined the set-up this season.
The club is now working well, the ladies & girls support the S&L men's team by helping out on match days and various other events and the club returns the favour by providing excellent facilities both on and off the pitch for the ladies & girls to use.
We like to think that we have one of the best facilities in our League and without the involvement of male clubs in women's football, the game could not progress.
