The Club

Corinthians of Albion as a Club was formed in 2006 by Andrew Lindridge and Denis Brown Jnr.

The club was to be an amalgamation of Park Inn FC from the Hartlepool Sunday League and Corinthians Futsal from the Teesside Futsal League. A number of the Park Inn players already played for the Futsal Club so the merger was smooth.

The Football team was first started by members of Hartlepool Cricket Club in the 1980's taking the name of HCCFC and entering the Hartlepool Sunday League.

The club kept the name until lack of money forced the team to look for outside sponsorship, Firstly for the 2004/05 Season from the Melbourne Hotel, taking on the name of AS Melbourne FC, then for 2005/06 The Park Inn became major sponsor with the team taking the pubs name.

For the 2006/07 season, Secretary Andrew Lindridge and Manager Denis Brown Jnr decided that searching for sponsors every year was too time consuming and bankrolled the team for the year in order to try and make the club self sufficient over the coming months.

The Futsal Club, Corinthians Futsal, was set up by Andrew Lindridge after he first experienced the game at University, a local League was set up in the spring of 2006 in which the team entered, finishing 6th in the League and losing in the League Cup Final.
