New year, new resolve
21 Jun 2006

Along with the new year came new resolve. The team started to put together some great results and started to show (what would have been) championship winning form. In the second half of the season we won 8 and lost only 3 (league and cup).
This gave us a league only record of won 8 lost 8 with no draws, not a team to put down on your pools coupon.
By the end of our first season everyone involved seemed pleased for the most part with how it had all gone.

The season begins
22 Jun 2006

So, the season begins and we still only have the bare amount of players to cope with the long season ahead. Though, slowly, new members were signed on.
Our first league game saw us play host to Barton Panthers, we went down 3-1, not to bad considering we had only just started.
OUR FIRST WIN!
Away to a league 1 side in the cup, Wetherden and Haughley, we run out comfortable winners by 5 goals to 2.
By the start of the new year our record in league and cup was played 9 won 2 lost 7.

The start of a long journey
23 Jun 2006

We started as a team in the kitchen of 2 of our soon to be committee members, tossing ideas back and forth, looking for a way we could possible attract enough boys to get our idea off the ground.
We sent out fliers, the core boys asked friends at school and finally we had enough to join a league. The league of choice was the Ipswich and District Youth league.
Our first game in anger was played in a local cup competion The Cornard Parish Cup. This cup involved, 2 weekends play with 4 local teams playing 2 semi finals and the winners playing in a final and the loosers meeting in a 3rd 4th place game. We finished 4th, but out of the disappointment came the knowledge that we did indeed have a few players who would and could hold the team together.

we have been performing really well and our team has bonded really well, we are getting plenty of good results and the future looks promising. if we keep putting in 100% effort who knows where we could end up. it was a disappointment to hear joe was leaving but we need to try and get over it and concentrate on playing football at a high level.
