ABOUT THE CLUB

Football in Cotgrave started around 1946 when Cotgrave FC was formed and joined the South Notts Realm League and the Notts & District League. The opening of the colliery in 1968 was when the Welfare team merged with the original setup in 1983. The name was changed and Cotgrave United was born and used the Woodview pitch as their fort. Over the years Cotgrave has been with a few different leagues and been under different names and have finally became Cotgrave Welfare FC with two teams 1st and 2nds. Both teams are members of the NSL leagues and have been competing in them since 2004.
