Cotgrave Welfare F C start the 2007/08 season as the defending NSL senior division champions. They achieved this feat by recording a league record amount of points and finished the season 10 points clear of their nearest rivals. This fantastic achievement came in manager Mark Turner's second season in charge after he guided the team to 3rd place in his first season. Although the club has gone through a fairly turbulent time in the past 5 years or so with several managers coming and going, there seems to be a real feel of stability at the club now and Cotgrave now have two strong squads and two managers commited to working together to make the club as strong as possible. Despite one or two of the senior players retiring after the title success last year Mark has recruited some fine young players to improve the squad. He is also commited to promoting players up from the reserves and is looking to bring a couple through to the first team this season. All in all exiting times for everyone at Cotgrave.
