Nutrition For Football [25 Mar @ 12:00am]

Lifestyle [9 Mar @ 9:41am]

Hydration [22 Sep @ 10:00pm]

The Importance of Hydration Children become dehydrated faster than adults, they sweat less but their bodies can overheat far more rapidly, so it's important that parents should be far more aware of this & try to encourage their child to take on frequent drink to avoid dehydration especially during physical exercise such as football, even more so in hot weather. A child during exercise should be encouraged to drink around every twenty minutes. It's so easy for children to become engrossed in what they're doing & not recognise the signs of being thirsty, which are the first steps of dehydration. Sixty percent of children & adults body weight is made up of water & it is this that keeps our bodily functions working, such as dampness around the mouth, nose & eyes, it regulates body temperature, helps with digestion, lubricates joints & flushes out toxins & waste products in the body. Signs of dehydration are •Thirst •Headache •Dizziness •Lack of concentration •Tiredness •Irritableness •Nausea The recommended amount of water a day is eight times eight ounces a day which works out at about eight glasses of water but a lot extra if taking part in exercise. So when you pack your son or daughter off to coaching sessions or coaching weeks, make sure you give them plenty of water and remember flavouring it will encourage them to drink more.
