This season shows Crawley United is ever expanding with 16 squads from U7's right up to seniors playing in 5 leagues.
Our club was started in 2004, initially with one age group playing under the kit and name of Crawley Town Youth.
Season 2009/10 found us re branding ourselves as Crawley United FC and were delighted to receive the sponsorship support of Scorpio Distributors. Our thanks go to Stuart Mcguire, MD and his team at Scorpio for their support to the club. We have presented home and away framed shirts to Scorpio as a thank you for their continuing support.
This season saw us move across to Northgate Playing Fields. Work is yet to be completed on the kitchen area but we will up an running with the bacon rolls soon. Hot and cold drinks are available from our tuck shop area together with the usual treats.
Earlier this year we hosted a Bingo Fundraising evening at The Grasshopper in Tilgate. We had a fun evening of games with prizes and raised around £700 for club funds.
More recently we held a Fish & Chip Quiz night, which really was a fun evening. This time we decided to donate the proceeds of the evening to The Freddie McGuire Charitable Fund and were pleased to see teams from Scorpio entered.
The winning team Misfits, made up of parents from the current U14s were presented with a silver plate, courtesy of Steve Coward of 101trophies and goodies donated by Scorpio.
Also this year Mark Burbridge (dad of Luke who plays in both U13s teams) took on the Tough Mudder Challenge. Tough Mudder events are hardcore obstacle courses designed to test your all around strength, stamina, and mental grit. Mark trained extremely hard and decided to donate his sponsorship to the Freddie McGuire Trust - he raised an amazing £1,500!!!
We are already planning the next fund raiser so look out for details .....
