The 2nd Team was created for the start of the 2007/08 season and was placed into the 2nd bottom league (Division 30) within the Kent Suburban League against the club's wishes.
Despite this, the 2nd team got on with their job and tried their best to ensure that some pride was taking out of the season.
Unfortunately, however, the league proved too tough for the squad and they failed to pick up a single win throughout the season, bar a cup win in the Arnold & May Beckley Memorial Trophy.
Their were some pleasing aspects of the season, particularly the addition of a few new players who look like good potential players for the 1st team. Stuart Moody has been the pick of the bunch, rising from being a 2nd team sub to 1st team centre-back in the space of a couple of months.
Ben Hadaway finished top goalscorer with 7 goals in 7 games - Ian Watson was named Players' Player of the Year - Ian George was named Most Improved Player - Lee Nevard took the Player of the Year award following an impressive display as the team captain.
