CROMWELL PROMOTED BACK TO DIVISION 1
What a great season for Cromwell Athletic when we played our best quality football scoring 69 goals and conceding only 18. This season got off to a great start with 5 straight wins and then after a defeat we responded with an 11 game unbeaten run.
This run included 2 great Cup wins where we knocked out Premier division teams including our best performance of the season against St Helens with a fantastic 3-1 win, and then a narrow victory away at Cadishead after a 3-3 draw winning 5-4 on penalties.
In the league we also had some great performances especially away at Blackbrook, Garswood and Winwick where our football was really special.
Goal of the Season - some really special moments with great individual goals including Phil's shot v Woolston, Lewis v Cadishead, George 35 yarder at Cadishead, Liam shot v Blackbrook, Kieron at Winwick and Rob's mazy run at home to Warrington Town but for me our best goal this season was at home to St Helens where we counterattacked down our left through Liam and Lewis with Kieron finishing with a half-volley shot into the corner.
