Cromwell Athletic Under 10's A Team

The current squad formed in the spring of 2005 when the lads were just aged four and five. Unable to play matches at such an early age, they trained initially with the older age group, before Andrew and Adam stepped in and formed the team in its own right.

It was almost eighteen months later in July 2006 before they were able to get their first taste of the big match. On a warm summers evening away at Beechfield, Cromwell Under 7's (as they were then) began life with a 2-1 win. The enthusiasm and commitment the lads had shown over the months had paid off. Twenty lads sharing half a sports hall suddenly didn't seem to matter anymore. As the numbers grew, two other Cromwell teams in this age group were formed, but the initial squad remained the same.

The team had a great first season in Divison 2 of the league winning their first games 9-0 and 16-0. There have been numerous highs and lows since then and it has been a pleasure to see them develop both individually and as a team. Now at Under 10's the squad as real togetherness about it and are about to prepare for life on the big pitch! Of the 11 reception aged children who came together five years ago, 8 are still in the squad and they are friends on and off the pitch.
