With the absence of manager Pete Grace, assistant manager Scouse made his Crookham Rovers managerial debut. A United team, who went into today's game looking for back to back wins and a chance to go top of the league faced off against a Hartley Wintney side who were looking to bounce back from a 6-0 defeat to Alton last week. From the kick-off United dominated the game and had numerous chances, Charlie Westwood doing well to get around the Hartley Wintney keeper, but missed an open goal in comical fashion similar to that of Fernando Torres's miss against Manchester United. Crookham finally got the chance they deserved after an unfair challenge in the box, James Morrison making it 1-0 from the penalty spot. Just a few minutes later and Westwood doubled the lead, redeeming himself from his miss earlier in the game, 2-0 United. Just on the stroke of half time Jack Webster grabbed his first goal of the match via a fantastic through ball from skipper Sam Williams.
A confident United side started the second half with a 3-0 lead and looked for a fourth goal, Liam Grace and Jack Kavanagh coming very close. Just a few minutes in and United had scored yet again, this time from Kavanagh. Just as it was looking as if things could not get any worse for a struggling Hartley Wintney side, the visitors made it 5-0 as Webster scored his second goal of the match wrapping up an impressive performance from an unbeaten United side this season. MOM - Charlie Westwood.
