ROSSCO RATTLES IN FINE HATRICK AS ROVERS BECAME NEHYL U16s PREMIER DIVISION CHAMPIONS.
in there final game as a squad the rovers marked the end of an era by becoming the nehyl u16s premier division champions. rovers knew going into this game that only a win would seal the championship and went straight at pinewood from the off but although the home side had the better first 10 minutes rovers had now settled into there stride and on 16 minutes a good piece of footwork from ross saw him go across the edge of the area to fire a fine effort back into the opposite corner to put rovers 1-0 up and set them on there way.
although rovers were now on top pinewood did manage to break through on a couple of occasions but found george in superb form inbetween the sticks and on 35 minutes rhys sent a fine ball over the top for jay warden to run onto to lob over the keeper to put rovers 2-0 up and now well in command at the break.
jay wilson was introduced to the game after the break and within 4 minutes he had his 3rd goal in 4 games after a pinpoint cross from jacob left jay to slot in at the far post to make it 3-0 and 7 minutes later it was 4-0 after a long throw from jacob left jay warden to knod home at the far post. with rovers now showing why they are clearly the best team in hart aswell as the nehyl there 5th was only minutes away and on 57 minutes a great corner from ash was met with a fierce head at the near post from ross and on 69 minutes ross had his hatrick after jay warden touched on for ross to smash a half volley into the top corner which to be fair the keeper done well to get a hand to but there was noway he was going to keep it out and rovers continued to attack for the final minutes and on the final whistle the corks were flying everywhere as rovers had proved they were the best team in the league by being crowned champions. man of the match was shared between george and ross.
a superb last season boys and you got what you deserved.
