Sunday was the return of the fixture between Crookham Rovers Wasps VS Headley Youth after an eventful encounter 2 seasons ago. This match saw Crookham Rovers Wasps change their usual formation of 4-5-1 into a 4-3-3 formation. In the game there were notable good performances by George Traylen and Rob Orchin in defence and a solid performance by Tom Kelly. In the 1st half Crookham Rovers Wasps put some great passages of play which led to a goal mid-way through the 1st half. Great movement by Tom Kelly to win a throw in, allowed Lee Endacott to find Tom Van Klaveren, who then laid the ball off for Ben Fisher to score a well placed goal from 20 yards. Unfortunately Crookham Rovers Wasps conceded an unlikely equaliser an opportunistic shot which caught the defence napping. After a great half time team talk Crookham Rovers Wasps looked stronger in the 2nd half. The 2nd Crookham Rovers Wasps goal was to prove to be the winner. It was scored at the back post by Alex Seward after a powerful run and accurate cross by George Traylen on the right. Crookham Rovers Wasps were unlucky not to win 3-1 after Tom Kelly laid the ball off to Alex Seward who hit a shot which was just pushed onto the bar by the Goal Keeper. Tom Palmer playing in an unfamiliar position to him in goal pulled off some fine saves during the game. The whole team put in 100% effort and deservedly won the game.
