Report

Well this was the last game of the season and may be last game as a club,
But what a way to go out boys.

Newcastle Town have thrashed every team in our league and they come here tonight and though it would be a walk over, However we thought differently.

From the off we took the game to them. we got stuck in we fought for every ball we never let them play we turned the game on its head and they didnt know what hit them when Danny got the ball.

Finally Danny got the gap and he took his chance well slotting home the first with a well took goal.
but this was no fluck we continued to attack, when NT did get the ball we snuffed it out with some great tackels,

Brownrigg and Stubbs were solid again and won every every challange with gut and determination, little Aaron was like a man posessed, before the kick off he asked if I could sub him 20 minutes in to the game, he was domminating the position and was enjoying the game so much he forgot about coming off.

Lewis took on boy twice his size and caused the problems in general the whole team was a soild unit.

When Lyindsay found space the NT defender took him out 25 yards out. with some poor marking and a poor wall Stubbs blasted the free kick at the goal the keeper struggled to contain the shot, and big Azza was in like a shot, first to react and rifled home the second.

NT were totally in dissaray what they though was a walk in the park was turning in to a major shock, So off when six players and on came six fresh eventually the scrambled one back, befor half time.

In the second we started positive again and Danny came close on a few occasions getting through on goal and hitting the post. then came the shot of the match when azza from 45 yards hit a left foot volly over every ones head, it clouted the uprigth and cross bar section bouncing down on the line, un-fortunaly no one followed it in to poke home.

NT with a 18 man squad started to bring on fresh legs and mid way through the second half the equilised following another goal mouth scramble.

The fresh legs started to turn the game and NT started to find more space against the tiered legs of Blazzers. and they soon added a 3rd.

However we continued to take the game to them and again we came close with Forrester sending in some snap shots.
Brownrigg found space on the left and was clear on to goal but Eccels was unable to feed the ball through in time.

Blazers kept pressing and the game was end to end Maddock again kept u in the game with some great saves as ussual ad he impressedthe Everton scout with his bravory unfortunattly with only seconds to go we through caution to the wind and pushed up for a free kick. only to lose the ball and NT broke through to goal. with only maddocks to beat they slotted home the 4th on the night with no time to take the re- start.

The NT manager spoke to me at the end and stated that a draw would have been a fair result.
The coach who also came over praised the team for giving them a shock stating "We didnt expect that"

The Everton representative that most of you clocked watching was supprised we had not won a game, he was quite imprested with the performance tonight and would have liked to see more of one or two players.

So well done Boys I am sorry to leave, but If we had played like that all season thing could have been so much different, unfortunattly to many players let us down this season with bad attertudes.

So good luck for next season and I will see you all at the presentation night.,
