Report

The game started with Deeside having most of the play, and the first quarter of the game passed with the sides quite evenly matched. Harry had the first clear chance, which the keeper saved, and shortly after he was back helping in defence as Kintore attacked.  The defence once again played well, keeping a rare but well-deserved clean sheet. Scott T and Scott M battled hard and & Conor missed nothing as sweeper, and during the game Calum pulled off some great saves. It started to look like a whole half might pass without a single goal being scored, but the deadlock was broken when Samuel scored.  Soon after Culter got a free kick just outside the box and Andrew scored in the same style as last week, curling the ball into the top corner. Just before half time Matthew scored to make it three nil, and the Deeside players came off to applause from the supporters.

Shortly after the re-start Andrew got his second, heading the ball in from a great long throw by Jamie.  Deeside were now well in charge of the game. Daniel was making some good runs, and Morgan was causing Kintore lots of problems on the wing. Culter then got their fifth when Matthew went past a couple of defenders and hit the post; Keilan was there to score from the rebound. Culter were now pressing hard and came close when a free kick by Andrew went just over and a header from Harry forced a good save from the Kintore keeper.  Culter's sixth was from a corner.  Andrew curled the ball in perfectly and it probably went in direct; however Scott Main made sure with a brave diving header and if it was possible to show a goal as shared between two players this would have been.

What a way to end the season.  The team, despite being short handed, has been playing well these last few weeks and all the things that had been going right in ones and twos over those weeks all went right at the same time tonight.  Once again every single player did well and worked hard, and it was noticeable that once Culter was a couple of goals up the team relaxed and played even better.  If Deeside can start next season the way this one ended we can look forward to a much better league position next year.

Player of the match was Andrew.
