Currie Youth Club has had a Soccer School for over 10 years now.
A local resident Allen Pratt first started it. Allen served us proudly for a number of years. With his coaching team he was able to set the coaching and respect standards which we maintain to this day. Allen stood down for a well-earned rest a few years back.
Last year we were delighted to see the return of Grant Hewitt to the soccer school. Already this year we can see what Grant brings to the School. There's fun, skills, more fun, respect and there's plenty and plenty of football.
Grant is supported by Gerry Butler, Stuart Livingstone, Dean Lawrie and Calum Brown.
This year we are delight that our team will be complemented by Willis Scott, whose own team previously come through the ranks at the School.
The coaching team holds SFA coaching badges, first aid badges and all have satisfied Disclosure Scotland.
The gel that holds us all together is Jackie McLellan. As administrator she does a wonderful job and all the coaches (and I’m sure the parents) are extremely grateful.
Last and by no means least are the children and their parents. We greatly appreciate the support given to us by all the parents. Whether it be for making sure the children arrive and depart on time, spend time getting to know each other, assisting with any events we may try to organise etc. Over the years not only the children but families have got to know each other and become very good friends.
So that’s the Soccer School. We hope you all enjoy your time with us and go on to enjoy your football and sport in years to come.
