Originally starting off as Queens Park Working Mens Club over twenty years ago the club has evolved into the new age side it is now.
There is only one person (Mark Stevens) still with the club today who was part of the Queens Park team which ran for approx 10 years. During those ten years, the club achieved great success and was recognised as being one of the strongest Sunday sides in the county winning league and cup titles and competing with the likes of Duke of York and St Margarets for these honours.
This success led to a reserve team being introduced to help support the first team and shortly after the club changed it’s name to The Whyte Melville. Over the next few years there were further name changes including Rose and Claret FC, Billing Mill FC and Spratton Rangers FC before deciding on Dallington Rovers F.C. as we are today. During the Billing Mill era, rather than acting as a back up side to the first team the reserves felt they could achieve their own success by becoming a single sided club.
Since then, the club has achieved promotion in almost every division it has competed in and 3 years ago made an appearance at Sixfields in the League Cup Final unfortunately being defeated by Pierce Hydro 2-0.
This season the club starts another campaign based at Spratton. The club has a real belief of winning the league, not just amongst the management but the players too. This would represent a huge achievement meaning that in 6 years the club will have been promoted 4 times.
