Season 2008/2009
An historic first season saw the introduction of a Darkside Reserves side. Under the leadership, of rookie Player-Manager Tim Gale, a squad was assembled with 90% new players. The target? Surely to ensure the team had enough players to field an XI each week!
Expectations soon rose after a thrilling start, unbeaten for the opening 10 league games. However, some limp performances resulted in dropped points and the team finished up in a disappointing 5th place. A sterling League Cup run was only narrowly twarted by Division 4 side Red Star in the Semi's.
Certainly foundations were laid for next season and the 1st team benefited at times, with a number of Reserves putting in sterling performances with the 1st team, ensuring a respectable league finish in Divison 3.
