The club formerley known as the Turks Head was taken over by Mark Higgins in 2004. In his first season as manager of the side that had just finished bottom of Division Two, he masterminded the signings of several key players (inc.Tony Rees who is now Managing Director) and the club finished a respectable 4th. The fact the club beat every side that finished above them showed that Higgins was building for the future.Top Goalscorer this year was James Hunt and he also won player of the year in all catagories.
In 2005/2006, promotion was the key aim of the season. The signing of James Harris was instrumental in a season that saw the club reach two external cup finals, one internal semi-final and a third placed finish that gave the club the ticket to the top flight.Top Goalscorer was Christian Pinfield and player of the year in all catogaries was Matt Rees.
2006/2007 saw the Higgins/Rees partnership add Brad 'Buffon' and towering Centre Half Macca. And then the deal to sign Carl Grey saw expectations rise for the club to enter the title race and no longer look at consolidation in its first season. The season was tinted with sadness at the continuing injury woes of Harris, eventually resulting in the retirement of a illustrious footballing career. A move upstairs was swiftly arranged and the odd game was still possible with painkilling injections. The season started in uproar as the move from the Turks Head to the Dog & Pheasant resulted in disquiet from the fans and upset on the pitch. A Hastily arranged move to a temporary home at the Crown was clinched and with everything sorted off the pitch, everything came right on the pitch. Clinching the title by 10 points and beating Bromsgrove Town on a memorable night at Redditch Utd with a performance of sheer power and dominance means that the benchmark has been set for how successful the club is and will be in the future. The Top Goalscorer was Arron Parr with Player of Season awards still to be announced.
Following the end of the dramatic season, Tony Rees moved upstairs to supervise the running of the club in a Managing Director role and Mark Higgins was installed as Chairman, to be on hand to help the incoming staff Mr James Harris and Mr Ben Taylor. The club has also moved to a permanant home at the DDS&S and a new ground is nearing completion with the club hoping it will be ready for handover in March 2008.
Whatever happens in the future the colourful history of the club and the closeness that knits those attached to it can never be changed.
