RESPECT

This is the serious part. All players, managers, coaches & parents will be asked to read & sign up to the Respect codes of conduct. We are not just paying lip service to these as they are about the right way to approach youth football. At Dereham we want the players to be in a safe environment where they can develop their skills & go on to be better footballers. The adults involved need to be supportive & encouraging. Everyone wants to win it is what football is all about but we should win well & lose gracefully. The officials are only doing the job as they see fit & there will be as many good decisions as there are bad ones. We have some people who previously refereed for the club who will no longer do so because of parents attitude & behaviour, we would like to keep the ones we have left as without them there is no game of football. The same applies to those parents who are willing to run the line & I thank them in advance for doing what can be a thankless task at times. I appreciate we cannot control supporters from other clubs but they should be signing up to the same codes of conduct & if we can at least show them how it should be done.

We are lucky as a club to have the facilities to train and play at that we do & both Aldiss Park & Northgate should be treated with Respect. We pay to play at both venues & there are many others who would swap places with us. Please ensure no litter is left at either venue either by home or away teams. They are both no smoking venues so please remind all who spectate. At Northgate for training & matches viewing is only allowable outside the fence & at Aldiss Park there will be Respect barriers in place. Further information on the Respect campaign can be found at FA.Com

FINANCE

This is more for the new parents but may help to clarify for others. The annual fee paid to the club per player is used to meet the cost of the yearly affiliation fees to the FA including insurance for the players & the club. It is also used to meet the cost of entering the leagues the team play in and their & the FAs respective cup competitions. It is an FA requirement that all managers & coaches that are involved with the children are CRB checked & that this is kept up to date & also that at least one person from each team involved with the children is qualified to at least Level 1. The cost of these requirements & qualifications including updates to Safeguarding Children & Emergency First Aid all have to be met from club funds.

The weekly fee paid is set at a level to meet the cost of venue for matches & also to pay for the training venue. These are not cheap & it is a balancing act. The club receives from the manager the level of fee x the number of players who play in matches for the team. The balance of fees from players is kept by the team to meet incidental expenses such as replenishing the first aid kit, stamps etc.
