Report

DTYFC's first away game of the season was a trip to Thorpe for the afternoon kick off. DTYFC alway knew this was going to be a tough game as Thorpe ran them close in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.  DTYFC were a little slow out of the blocks and Thorpe took a early lead.  DTYFC continued to play football despite the physical presence of Thorpe and started to dominate possession.  DTYFC made a change with 30 mins played replacing the injured Howes who was unable to shake a neack injury with Hawkins . DTYFC started to ask questions of the Thorpe back line and with some great link up play between Hawkins and the front two of DTYFC the goal was always going to come.  Copsey sent the ball in to the Thorpe following another foul on the DTYFC forward and Matthew's turned the loose ball into the goal (two in two for the RB now).  The second half saw DTYFC quality shine through almost straight from the kick off DTYFC pressed and from the resulting corner Beazer leapt high to head home with only 2 mins played, then two minutes later the goal of the game with Hollyoak, Dack, Gould and Meehan all involved in the build up before Gould delivered to Meecham who flick to the back of the Box was met by Hawkins (Bale) on the Volley smashing the ball into the Thorpe goal. DTYFC continued to dominate in all areas of the pitch and were unlucky two or three time, most notable Meehan.  However DTYFC rounded the game off with a well worked goal with Gould lifting the ball over the on rushing GK and defended to round off a comfortable game 1v4.  DTYFC management congratulated the team on what could be the defining moment of the season for them and has given them a great workout before their Super Sunday Showdown with Sprowston next week.  MOM G.Hawkins
