The team underachieved, due to numerous important players missing many games through suspension injuries. Cameron Copeland was at Uni for most of the season, Richard Corby suffered another injury, Nipper Pearman suffered both injuries and suspensions, the English brothers were suspended for numerous games, Keeper Adam Daniels missed games because of suspension, and the list could go on. We had the worst disciplinary record in the league by a long way, and this needs to be sorted out.
Without all of the players missing, the team were really looking at a top 5 finish, but in fact, we finished 10th. However, several youngsters were given their debuts, and have proved they can play at that level, and will be important players in the future.
Nelson top scored for the side in the league, with a return of about a goal every other game. Paul English scored a handy 9 league goals, some of them being scorchers. Billy Overton and Adam Seal made good contributions, scoring 8 league goals each. This was Billy's first season since joining, and he really impressed.
Hopefully with the signing of a few quality players, and the disciplinary problem solved, the team can make a real push for a top 5 finish next season.
