ERCFA Qualifying Cup
A goal from Tim Smith in the last minute of extra time saw Wanderers progress into the quarter finals of the Qualifying Cup.

Blue Bell sponsored Wanderers were without top goal scorer Steve Parker but within 10 minutes they were ahead, Rich Adinall firing home though a crowed penalty box.

Wanderers , with the wind, looked like they could score with every attack but wayward shooting and poor passing was letting them down, and against the run of play Heslington equalized after a mix up.

A half time dressing down from the manager didn't seem to work as straight from the restart Wanderers went 2-1 down. Playing against the wind the visitors struggled as 2-1 soon became 3-1 and Wanderers looked dead and buried.

Changes were called for and were made and with Wanderers now playing three up front, Tony Roberts' thunderous shot was deflected beyond the Hesslington keeper and in the dying minutes Adinall got his second to equalise.

With the light failing extra time was cut to ten minutes each way. Wanderers were now on top, throwing everything at the home side and just when penalties looked to be looming Smith, now playing on the left, cut in and fired in a shot the keeper couldn't reach and the great comeback was complete.
