GARY WALKER
Gary gained his Level 1 and Level 2 FA Coaching qualifications by 2005, has been Team Manager since the team formed in 2004. He lead the team on successful tours to Germany in May 2008 and September 2010.
Here are a few questions that he answered recently:
What was your position when you played football?
I?ve always been a goalkeeper, Gordon Banks was my hero, though I have been known to turn out as a centre back ? you?ll notice close ball control has never featured in my game!
What was the highlight of your playing career?
I remember my first match vividly (1968), Northfield Junior school away to Brimington Juniors; we won 4-1 and the goal I conceded went in off the inside of the post! I played in Belgium in a couple of tournaments but the highlight was a championship deciding tie in 1981. Fusion Sports v Grouse & Claret at Rowsley, Fusion won 4-1 and we took the league title from the Grouse who were runners up? and I made a fine save to feet in the last 5 minutes to ensure we took the points!
What was your worst injury whilst playing?
Playing with strapped fingers following torn ligaments or mild concussion from a head ?v- centre forwards knee collision come close but the worst was a near fractured leg playing at centre half; my shin pad was shattered in two but it saved my leg! It was an away fixture and I made the 30 mile return trip in the back of an Austen Mini, it was so cramped my leg had seized up and I couldn?t get out!
What parts of training do you like the most?
I could say packing up at the end! But the most rewarding part of coaching is seeing the plan, your vision, come together. As a coach the goal is to leave every session having improved each player; when this happens, and it does, there is no better feeling.
Apart from football, what other sports have you enjoyed playing?
I played for Chesterfield RUFC Colts as a second row forward before committing to football, after I hung up my boots full time I had a few years playing squash and I?ve always owned golf clubs ? we?ll leave the golf at that!
What was your Germany highlight?
Our first warm-up session in the Floschenstadion; everything I?d hoped for?
What has been the best feeling of your Dronfield Town Managerial career?
Seeing both squads win through to the DTFC tournament final ? capped a great season and made the thought of the next one even more exciting!
Do you have any pre-match rituals?
Not really, although I do like to have everything organised early, even if, or probably because, I don?t always make it to pitch side on time!
If you could visit any stadium in the world, which would it be?
Guadalajara, Estadio Jalisco, in Mexico ? where Banks made that save from Pele in 1970.
Gary?s top ten are:
1. Top magazine ? I don?t read magazines
2. Top movie ? depends on the mood ? ?Lost in Translation? or ?Pulp Fiction?
3. Top TV show ? ?Mock the Week?
4. Top sport ? Football ? are there any others?
5. Top holiday destination ? Corsica, just perfect?
6. Top meal ? Karen?s Chilli with garlic bread
7. Top person ? Gordon Banks
8. Top memory ? definitely the Blades away draw at Ipswich in the play-off semi?s (1997) me & Matt, 2 hours stood up singing.
9. Top music ? an eclectic mix from Arctic Monkeys to Blur, the Cranberries, Duffy and Sade.
10. Top day out ? in the country or on the cliffs? cycling or walking.

GRAEME WHILLANCE
Graeme gained his Level 1 FA Coaching qualification by 2005, and has been Assistant Team Manager since the team formed in 2004. He lead the team on the successful tours to Germany in May 2008 and September 2010.
Here are a few questions that he answered recently:
What was your position when you played football?
Full back was my favourite position, although I did enjoy the occasional game in attack. Never in goal, it has to be the worst position to play. I would rather be sub!
What was the highlight of your playing career?
Scoring my 100th goal (I did take the penalties and it did take 12 seasons)
What was your worst injury whilst playing?
Cracked ribs, very painful and if you have ever had a cracked rib you will know what I mean.
What parts of training do you like the most?
The warm up as everyone is involved.
Apart from football, what other sports have you enjoyed playing?
Tennis, Golf, Squash. My best moment was being part of my tennis team that won the Sheffield Schools tournament and receiving the trophy from Seb Coe.
What was your Germany highlight?
Being made so welcome on our arrival, it set the tone for the whole trip.
What has been the best feeling of your Dronfield Town Managerial career?
Seeing the teams line up together for the team photo in Sindelfingen. All of our plans had come to fruition.
Do you have any pre-match rituals?
None really, although I like to be early to be prepared for the game.
If you could visit any stadium in the world, which would it be?
Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Graeme?s top ten are:
1. Top magazine ? my football programme collection.
2. Top movie ? Mamma Mia!
3. Top TV show ? any sports show.
4. Top sport ? it?s got to be football, the No 1 sport.
5. Top holiday destination ? Dubai.
6. Top meal ? Italian.
7. Top person ? Sir Bobby Robson.
