Nine-men Stiffs end year on a high

A tremendous battling performance from the Reserves at the weekend saw them hold leaders South Cave Sporting to a 1-1 draw despite playing the last twenty minutes with nine men.

Paul Wilkinson (pictured) gave Easington a first half lead but after Cave had levelled matters he then became the first home player to see red, dismissed for a second bookable offence.

Soon afterwards James Dawson followed him but inspired by man of the match Craig Foster and with goalkeeper Ben Akam making a confident debut in goal, the locals held out to record a valuable point.
