Stiffs on the cup trail

The Reserves go to Bilton Athletic this evening in the first round of the ER County League President’s Trophy, the H. E. Dean Cup (6pm).

It’s a competition the Stiffs won just two years ago and they should be quietly confident of progressing further this evening, given the Division 5 status of their hosts.

In the absence of Daniel Campbell, the suspended Craig Foster (pictured) takes the reins, assisted by Neil Rutter, and both men will urge no complacency against a side who’ve struggled for much of their first season in the League.

Danny Cundill is missing but otherwise it’s the same squad that came back from 2-4 down to earn a draw against Park Athletic on Saturday.

A win would set up a trip to either Roos or Withernsea Reserves next Thursday in Round Two.
