Was I Mad To Accept?

When your approached to manage one of the biggest Island Div One teams you automatically jump at the chance. What they don't tell you is how many players you need to get in as the reserve side is desperate!
First and most crucial signing was the assistant Glenn Annett and between them a staggering 11 players are drafted in over the campaign!
The very young side did a great job in keeping the Vics Reserves in the top island league with the following statistics:

Finished: 11th of 14 teams.
P26 W5 D6 L15 F41 A77 GD-36 Pts21

Low point of the season was a 6-1 thumping away to Yarmouth after being 1-0 up at half time and the high was a 4-0 win away to Ventnor which catapulted our season. The surprise was that we won 4 of our 5 games away from home!

Although the league table is incomplete Shanklin maintained good form to win the league with West Wight coming in as runners up. On that note I will add that both the County Press and Yellow Jersey website let me down!

More importantly the following players came out smelling of roses:

Top Goalscorer: Chris Maher (13)
Most MOTM Awards: Levi Parkman
Most Consistent: Harry Ovnik 1 game!

The awards went to the following players:

Young Player: Jamie Moody
Managers Player: Jamie Merrick
Players Player: Tony Wakeford.
