1st half
The game got under way to a reasonable start, but Spartak were marking well and closing us down, not letting us breathe easy. The heat was on, although we had a few chances.
The game was quite physical and suffered a few injuries, but non too serious. All Zenit players had a tough game, and made it difficult to find space to create chances.
Spartak had the upper hand and scored two good goals as we were still trying to get going.

2nd half
The second half was slightly better as we managed to raise our game. A few chances from Alex Lee, Oliver and Theo saw their goalie make good saves, but Oliver managed to break through and score (1-2). Luke had a good game and gave it his all. We had a couple of chances to break even but the game finally slipped away when their striker made another for them (1-3).
Theo strived hard to hold them off down the wing and have seen much effort in our last couple of games.
Arran read the game well and made some good saves, and saved us conceeding more.
Well done to all. A brave effort!
